Abstrak

Biomass briquettes are an alternative renewable energy source that can reduce dependence on fossil fuels and support sustainable energy for small-scale enterprises. This study focuses on the design and performance analysis of a biomass briquette machine powered by an energy-efficient electric motor. The machine was tested using rice husk and sawdust as raw materials, with a capacity of 10 kg per batch. Parameters measured included production rate, motor power consumption, briquette density, and combustion quality. Results show that the machine achieved a production rate of 8 kg/hour, consumed only 150W of electricity, and produced briquettes with an average density of 1.2 g/cm³. The briquettes demonstrated stable combustion with low smoke emission. This innovation highlights the potential of appropriate technology to support SMEs in renewable energy utilization and waste management.
